Improvements

Posted: April 9, 2025

Hello everybody, I'm once again back here writing to all you nonexistent readers. I actually meant to write another blogpost way back at the start of the year. A lot had gone down between september and then, and I wanted to talk a bit about it, as well as make my resolutions public in an effort to sort of hold myself accountable by putting eyes on my commitments. I honestly don't even remember what they were, so I guess we can already count that out. But I think that's okay.

The whole "new year's resolutions" thing is kind of dumb anyways. It reduces what should be a constant cycle of self-improvement to a night of grand and often alcohol-induced promises that are seldom followed through upon. Instead of that, we should be constantly re-evaluating what is and isn't good for us and what is and isn't important to us. This is why I've decided that I'm going to drop out of community college and not pursue further formal education.

I know this might run counter to what I said in my last post, and how excited I was to begin that journey, but I can no longer keep up with what that entailed for me. The stress of keeping up with all 5 (and later 4) of my classes was too much when combined with everything else going on in my life. Additionally, I had begun to resent rather than enjoy the classes I was so excited for, and the future that would follow obtaining a CS degree.

I have many more reasons why I chose to do this (one doesn't make a decision about this without many good reasons) but the big one is that I'm tired of waiting for my life to start. I have no job, I have no car, and I have no drivers license, and as someone who lives in a rural part of the United States, those last two are a must if I'm to have much of a real life.

That's enough about my personal problems for now.

Something I'm really looking forward to is being able to pay this site more mind. I plan on adding more actual content rather than (yet another) CSS revamp, which will include a page for all of my devices and perhaps a section written entirely in toki pona! nimi mi li waso [utala lawa olin]. noka waso li pona mute tawa mi.

Speaking of the former, I've just acquired MANY more devices, and I can't wait to write about those soon. But for now, that it all. If you're still reading this though, I hope you have an excellent day :>
